Translating Science into Action around the Great Lakes Basin
We address complex questions with practical advice and action. Our field science and community-focused strategies ensure lasting watershed resilience across the Great Lakes region.

Watershed Renewal
Restoring wetlands and streams: from one to 200+ acres in size
On private and public lands we have designed and implemented comprehensive plans to stabilize sediment, enhance riparian buffers and restore wetlands. This involved native planting, strategic flow adjustments, and green engineering; crucial for long-term ecological health.
Our approach used scientifically proven engineering and landscape restoration strategies, directly addressing erosion and improving water quality. These projects overseen by our team now serve as models for sustainable land management in the Great Lakes basin: Flodin Park in Canton Township, Michigan; Parma Wetland Bank, and many smaller projects on private and park lands.

Watershed Resilience
Mobilizing communities to protect watersheds
We partnered with local planners and community groups to develop a communication and data-sharing strategy for watershed resilience, flood mitigation and fish and wildlife habitat. This involved workshops and field visits, translating complex science into actionable steps.
Our engagement fostered a shared understanding of local hydrology, fish, wildlife and socio-ecological needs. The resulting plan is now guiding community and governmental efforts to protect vital freshwater resources.
